Why We Teach
Growing up, many of us experienced education—especially in subjects like math—as disconnected from our realities and cultural values. At Elevated Sky, we aim to change that narrative. Our tutoring and workshops center Indigenous youth & adults and reconnect them to the rich legacy of mathematics that exists within our cultures—through trade systems, artistry, agriculture, and more.
We don’t just teach math—we teach it in a way that reflects who we are.
Our Services
We offer personalized tutoring and group workshops that blend academic excellence with cultural relevance, including:
- Culturally Relevant Math Tutoring (College Level)
- STEM Enrichment Workshops with Indigenous Perspectives
- College Readiness & Math Confidence Coaching
- Curriculum Development for Tribal Programs
- Federal Grants Management & Technical Assistance for Tribal Schools/Colleges
Whether it’s preparing a student to pass a tough college math course, supporting a tribal school with grant compliance, or delivering a hands-on workshop exploring geometry through basket weaving designs—we tailor our services to meet your needs and honor your roots.
A Success Story that Fuels Us
One of our proudest moments came while tutoring a Tohono O’odham student who had struggled for years to pass Math 151—the last class standing between him and his associate degree. After working together through culturally connected instruction and confidence-building strategies, he finally passed and walked across that graduation stage. It’s moments like these that remind us why this work is so vital.
You Belong in STEM
If you’re a student struggling with math, know this: You are not alone, and you are capable. Our ancestors were problem-solvers, engineers, and mathematicians long before those words existed in textbooks. At Elevated Sky, we help you reconnect with that truth—and support you every step of the way.
